New MMO: Karos Online

MMORPG had become social game play within today's society. Imagine the old fashion Ragnarok Online since 2001, with the development of 3D technologies, Blizzard came up with World of Warcraft which hit the global market in 2007. Impressively, there are much more other online games with better graphics. For a Pay to Play online game such as Aion online which was release recently in May, 2009, it potrays a more realistic effect of the environment which only players with high graphic card will able to experience it. Now, NHN had came up with the new release of Karos online which provide Free to Play service together with better graphic effect compared to other 3D MMORPG.

On 21st August, NHN Europe realease their Close Beta Test server for Karos Online. With this opportunity, I had myself register as one of their Close Beta Tester. With the provided game client, the size of it is only 700MB and will additionally patch another 100MB + of it's game files.
The game starts with a login page as similar to other MMORPGs. After successfully login to the game server, the game leads you to Character Creation screen. There are three classes for players to choose at the moment which are Blader, Bowmistress and Rogue. As seen in the screen, there are other classes which are not able to be selected yet. This shows Karos Online have their future development of this game.

After creating your character, you are able to access the game server. There'll be Character Selection for players to select their playable characters before entering the game. As shown from the screen, players are only able to create maximum of four chracters.

I was amazed by the environment graphic effect after I entered into the game world. With high graphic settings, players are able to view the details of the game. But, even with low graphic setting, players are still able to feel the breezy effect in the game world.

By default, the game graphic settings are set to high. Players with low graphic card will be able to change the setting to medium or low which ever fits the players' desire. But for some technical problem caused by my wireless router, I was not able to play this game at ease since it kept disconnecting. So far, I'm only able to reveal how the game environment is. Quest and other function will be revealed after I'm back to my work port at Damansara.

After exiting the game for the first time, a small browser will pop up which contains survey question of the game. Seems that the developer wants to hear opinions from players to improve the gameplay environment that suits the majority.

GSC: G.I Joe

And so it begins another day of my boring life. So far of this few weeks was addicted to EVONY accidentally after recommending this web browser game to my friend who was whinning about looking for Total War like online game.

As for I need changes for me to efficiently rule my empire, I had Mr. Obama as my mayor at AthlumII

A view of Athlum city captured from my copter

From my satellite camera, a view of my conquered territories as displayed.

There's no need for me to explain another time that it's not their seductive ads that made me addicted. If you seek for bo0bies, this en't yer game. I seek for domination. What bout you?!

Here, I return to my main topic which cloncludes for today's outing to Midvalley watching G.I. Joe. Well, this movie explains how the villain came to existence in Joe's world. Excluding the viual effect which was over populated in the movie, the movie is one kind of a worth-it-to-watch (WITW) movie. BTW, the suit shown in this movie, it was imported from Crysis technology. I'm sure of it! :D

Prototype [Preview 2]

More than you would expect! As I advanced more into the story of Prototype, role playing the character, Mercer, somewhere in the middle of the story, *HIGHLY CLASSIFIED INFORMATION* Mercer gain two new abilities which is shown in the picture below.

Full armor + some kind of dual-blade ripping weapon

Ok,most games... they are well known with hijacking vehicles. This time, Prototype introduces you another type not called hijacking but skyjacking! So, how to skyjack a helicopter. First, you get yourself in trouble and BLACK-WATCH will call-in strike team. This strike team will bring you helicopters to be skyjacked. While gliding in the air, in the beginning, you are only able to kick down those helis but now, while trying to kick those helis, you'll have option to continue to kick them down or to skyjack one of them.

Red area in the mini map indicates infected area ... Warning! this en't zombie game...

Well, now you don't have towaste your energyto glide in the air. Now you OWNED yourself a heli ... FOR FREE!

Huhu.. reminds me of Mask Rider :D

Prototype [Preview]

One of the AWESOMESSSSST game I ever played. Prototype lets you control a character named Alex Mercer, a guinea pig for GENTEK's experiment. However he managed to escape in the middle of the game. So, what's so interesting about Prototype?

Compared to other games, you can have free roam with a restricted areas accessibility base on the mission level map. While in free roam, you can either continue your quest on whatever needed to be done or you can roam around town causing havoc. At this point, police officers and soldiers are your enemy and civilians are just your mere victims.

I can be Spiderman!

During combat, you can perform many stunts and fighting combo base on your preference. You might like to carry up vehicles to throw on the Strike Team helicopters, or climb up high and jump on the helicopters and so on. Shape shifting also features you to combat in different situations. As the story advances, you gain more EP by killing, destroying and completing missions which enables you to buy more skills.

I can KAME-HAME-HA!
(Actually is just carrying burnt down car)

In this game, you are just a stand alone protagonist which chases his past to know what had happened to him. Besides by just completing your main missions, there are other side quests for you to earn more EPs and be as powerful as you can.

I'm STRONG!

Compared to Assassin Creed, Prototype provides much more adventurous mission whereas, Assassin Creed just makes you run to the same town to assassinate your subject. Well, if you are the type playing Assassin Creed, you might like Prototype as well. So, don't miss out this game!

Bye bye... GTG!

Atlantica Online [Preview]

For today's game of the day, here comes another MMOTBG, Atlantica online and yeah TBG - Turn Based Game. Finally, I manage to lay my hands on to this game ever since I had problem downloading the game client previously. BTW, there's problem taking screenshots of this game so, this post won't be able to include my screenshot.

Atlantica is a marvelous game compared to of all MMO which I played. Certain players might dislike its turn base strategy gameplay, but one advantage of this game is that, having to be able to control all 9 characters (max) ables you to solo along the game.

Another interesting part of this game is, many players especialy those high levels will send you items and gold when you first started out. So, I asked 1 of them, why so generous? He / she replied that, they gain experience point by doing so.

For the first time playing this game, it gives a feeling that you are in a parallel world of the current one since it has most similar world map as ours. Yeah, KL is included (written in my Facebook Notes [!])

FYI, I'm playing in in Thebes server and might spot me with character name GinShouki, as usual my MMO main character name. Also, this game is totally addictive! I nearly spent my whole day and night yesterday following up the quest. At least, I managed to pull off sometime middle of the night doing my work out. :D

Anyway, this is my rating for this game:
1. Graphic: [4 stars]
---compared to other MMOs I've played I like this one
2. Performance: [3 stars]
---Too bad its not very smooth at maximum graphic setting. Maybe there are loads of players
3. Environment: [4 stars]
---Very cool! But why start out in Korean province?
4. Gameplay: [4 stars]
---I'm not too sure what to comment since it is my 1st time playing MMOTBG. But much better playing classical Gundam turn base strategy game.
5. Quest: [5stars]
---Questing is easy after you're used to the game. If you can't find you way to the destination, just use auto run. Auto run function will just leads you to the point. No more long term keyboard pressing ^ ^

My first impression, I thought that playing turn base MMO will be sucky... but resulted different as what I expect. This game.... it's DANGEROUS!

(Oh yeah! they should fix the screenshot thingy... or izzit only my screenshot doesn't work well?)

Holy Beast Online [Preview]

Introducing to you game of the day, Holy Beast Online (HBO). This game was introduced by my friend on the day we went to Lowyat. Today, I took my time to see how interesting this game is.

Holy Beast Online introduces six types of clan which are: (Taurus, Bird, Dragon, Tiger, Monkey, and Dog). Each clan has their respective classes and different skill attributes which suits different type of game play [!].

The game starts off with a character as a small beast striving through the world of beast fantasy. Players are able to do quest and grind to level up. At most level, there are quests available for players to accomplish. From what I have played, reaching lvl 3, there'll be a quest which allows the character be able to change form to human or beast.

Starting of the game.

Level 1 quest + grinding.

After level 3, transforming from dragon.

Transformed to human.

So far that I played this game. It's kind of challenging in the beginning. Starting off as a beginner will have a hard time to kill higher level mobs given through quests. But, once at level 5, players are able to select a job through respective NPC.

It took me almost 3 hours to reach level 10. This is the one most hardest leveling MMO I ever played.

My rating for this game:
1. Graphic: [4 stars]
---I never seen a game so smooth and no glitches.
2. Performance: [5 stars]
---Normally global server will have certain lags but this game is awesome.
3. Environment: [4 stars]
---Looks kind'a kiddo in away but the BGM suits well.
4. Gameplay: [3 stars]
---Just that if they include the W,A,S,D key for the movement...
5. Quest: [2 stars]
---The description given in the quest is not clear and mobs location should be included. Had a hard time doing the quest at 1st...

My first impression on this game, it has a cute like feature with improved graphic effect compared to Fiesta. BTW, if you are planning to try this game, my tip for you is always check your full map for any quest available.

That's all for the preview.
